A recognised education shouldn't depend on your situation.

CROUS social-criteria scholarships, Île-de-France regional aid, international scholarships, disability schemes — here are the six levers you can use.

Combinable depending on your situation.

01 CROUS social-criteria scholarship

Awarded by the Centre Régional des Œuvres Universitaires et Scolaires (CROUS), the social-criteria scholarship is paid monthly from October to June (10 monthly payments).

It is open to French and European Union students, and to international students under certain residence conditions.

The amount depends on your bracket (from 0 bis to 7), calculated from the household's reference income, the number of dependent children and the distance from home.

  • Bracket 0 bis — exemption from university tuition + access to CROUS housing
  • Brackets 1 to 7 — monthly payments from ~€1,454 to ~€6,335/year
  • International students — eligible if refugee status, EU/EEA national, or legal residence for 2 years

Enerlab Academy is authorised to host CROUS scholarship students. Our UAI number 0923177D is recognised in the French Higher-Education system.

02 Île-de-France regional aid

The Île-de-France Region offers several schemes that can be combined with the CROUS scholarship, targeting specific audiences or programmes.

  • Regional merit aid — for « Très bien » distinction Baccalauréat holders continuing in a recognised professional programme
  • Mobility aid — for students undertaking an internship or training period abroad
  • Aid for high-demand sectors — bonus for programmes in energy, security, services

See the Île-de-France Region website for detailed criteria and application calendar.

03 International scholarships

For international applicants or French students seeking experience abroad, several programmes exist.

  • Eiffel scholarship — excellence programme of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, for international students at Master's level
  • France Excellence — Campus France scholarships for international students in priority fields
  • AUF (Agence universitaire de la Francophonie) — scholarships for students from the French-speaking world
  • Erasmus+ — European mobility for internships and study semesters

The procedure goes through the Campus France portal in your country of origin, in parallel with your Enerlab Academy application.

04 Disability scheme

Students with disabilities receive specific aid that can be combined with other scholarships.

  • Disabled Adults Allowance (AAH) — paid by the CAF, compatible with student status
  • Disability Compensation Benefit (PCH) — human assistance, material aid, transport
  • AGEFIPH aid — for adapted educational equipment

Enerlab Academy has a dedicated disability contact who supports you throughout your studies.

05 Combinations and exemptions

Several aids can be combined together, and with other training-funding schemes.

  • CPF (Personal Training Account) — usable alongside a scholarship for eligible programmes
  • OPCO — for work-study, no cap on apprentice pay
  • France Travail — Individual Training Aid (AIF) for jobseekers
  • University tuition exemption — automatic for scholarship holders bracket 0 bis and above
  • Early payment — savings of €600 (BTS) or €500 (Master's)

06 How to apply: when and how

Applications are submitted alongside your Enerlab Academy candidacy.

Plan ahead : some windows close as early as May.

  • 15 January → 15 May — submit the Student Social File (DSE) on messervices.etudiant.gouv.fr
  • January → March — Île-de-France regional aid applications
  • March → May — international scholarships (Eiffel, France Excellence, AUF)
  • All year — disability schemes (MDPH) and CPF

The admissions team reviews your file as soon as you apply to identify combinable aids and build your funding plan — free service included in the candidate journey, no commitment.

07 Frequently asked

Can I combine a CROUS scholarship with work-study ?

No — the apprenticeship or professionalisation contract takes you out of scholarship status (you become an employee).

That said, your apprentice salary largely covers your costs and gives you paid holidays and social security.

When will I know my CROUS bracket ?

The simulator on messervices.etudiant.gouv.fr gives an immediate estimate.

The final notification is usually sent between June and August, after Enerlab Academy accepts your enrolment file.

What if I don't get a scholarship ?

Several alternatives : work-study (paid, no tuition fees on you), professionalisation contract, monthly instalment plan over 12 months, or CPF if you are employed.

Our admissions team will propose a path suited to your situation.

Do scholarships also cover housing ?

No — the CROUS scholarship covers daily living costs and exempts you from university tuition.

For housing, apply for a CROUS residence room (scholarship holders priority) or use APL (CAF).

See our student housing page.
