03 International admissions procedure — 6 steps

From your first contact through to settling in Paris, here are the 6 documented steps.

Allow on average 4 to 6 months between Pastel file submission and the academic year start.

Register on the « Études en France » (Pastel) platform — For nationals of one of the 67 countries with a mandatory procedure (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Vietnam, China…), create your file on pastel.diplomatie.gouv.fr as soon as it opens (October for the next academic year).

Pre-application with Enerlab Academy — Fill in the form at the bottom of the page with transcripts from the past 3 years (translated FR or EN, certified copies), proof of French level (DELF B2 or equivalent), copy of valid passport, CV, motivation letter.
Processing time : 5 business days.

Videoconference selection interview — 30-minute interview with our Academic Director.
Assessment of your spoken French level, career project and motivation.
Email invitation sent within 5 days of receiving the complete file.

Official admission certificate — If admitted, Enerlab Academy issues your Admission Certificate stating : full name, programme, dates, annual contact hours, tuition fees.
Signed and stamped document — required for the visa file.

Long-stay student-visa application (VLS-TS) — Submitted to the French consulate in your country after Pastel validation.
Key documents : Enerlab Academy admission certificate, proof of resources (blocked account ≥ €7,380 or equivalent grant), proof of housing, health insurance.

Arrival and supported settling — Once your visa is granted, our International office supports you with : opening a bank account, registering for student social security, applying for housing aid (APL/CAF), complementary insurance, residence-permit validation.

Blocked account

BNP Paribas, Société Générale, La Banque Postale offer remote opening of a blocked account for the visa (€7,380 minimum for 2026-2027).

Important for the visa : proof of housing (signed student-residence contract or hosting attestation) is a key document in the consular file.

06 FAQ — visa and residence

What budget for the student visa ?

The French consulate requires proof of sufficient resources.

In 2026, the minimum required amount is €7,380 on a blocked account (€615/month × 12).

This account is released monthly once you are in France.

Check the up-to-date amount with the French consulate in your country.

How do I renew my residence permit ?

Renewal is done at the Hauts-de-Seine prefecture (Nanterre) before your permit expires.

Enerlab Academy provides : school certificate, transcript, attendance attestation.

The International office supports you.

Can I work alongside my studies ?

Yes.

The VLS-TS student visa allows you to work up to 964 hours per year (about 60% of full-time, ≈ 20 h/week).

For work-study programmes, the apprenticeship or professionalisation contract is included in this quota.

Can I go home during holidays ?

Yes.

The VLS-TS is a return visa.

Always keep with you : valid residence permit, Enerlab Academy school certificate, valid passport.

What is the « Études en France » procedure ?

The « Études en France » procedure on the Pastel platform (pastel.diplomatie.gouv.fr/etudesenfrance) is mandatory for nationals of 67 countries (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Vietnam, China, India…) before any student-visa application.

It includes a consular interview in your country.

What to do in case of visa refusal ?

Ask the consulate for the precise reason.

Most common refusals : insufficient resources, unjustified housing, incomplete file, incoherent project.

Enerlab Academy can provide additional documents on request.

Are there international scholarships ?

Enerlab Academy does not award direct scholarships for 2026-2027.

You can apply for : BGF (French Government), AUF, Eiffel Excellence Scholarship (Master's), bilateral scholarships from your country.
